To develop better understanding of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) among manufacturers and innovators, an international fellowship on HTA will be conducted in Andhra Pradesh Med Tech Zone (AMTZ), Vishakhapatnam, from January 9-13 next year, an AMTZ statement said.

Health Technology Assessment refers to the process of using existing evidence to uate the clinical effectiveness, cost-effectiveness and broader impact of a health technology on patients and the healthcare system.

The AMTZ has called for paper presentation. “Authors are invited to submit abstracts of their HTA, which are original and unpublished. The selection will be based on merit and the last date to submit the abstract is 1st December 2016.”

The notification date of acceptance of abstract is 30th December 2016.

Innovation and the actual needs of the healthcare system should be linked more closely. Innovative products that provide the most value for investment must be identified and their manufacturers
should be supported with appropriate and high investment facilities that could reduce the cost manufacturing. They should also be support with evidence based and outcome centric knowledge on
products and technologies, according to AMTZ.

AMTZ is Indias first ultra modern medical equipment manufacturing zone with state of art 250 plus manufacturing units along with scientific laboratories critical to medical technology production.

The goal of this progressive initiative would be to encourage medical technology innovators scale new heights by providing them with appropriate and strategic avenues with an aim to improve access to
