A joint delegation of Asian Hospitals led by Padam Shri Dr N K Pandey, Chairman, and Rajiv Chawla, Chairman of I am SME of India (Integrated Association of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises of India) went to Bangladesh in January 2016.01

During this visit, many important meetings were held including with Governor of Bangladesh Bank (Central Bank of Bangladesh), Minister of Health, Director General of Health, Dy. High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, Ambassador of European Union to Bangladesh, Chairman Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Chancellor Daffodils University and a very large congregation of MDs, CEOs of Banks, Govt Officials and Entrepreneurs at Dhaka to explore opportunities related to MSMEs, healthcare, medical tourism and setting up of hospital in Bangladesh.


During the meeting, it was discussed how Bangladeshs Healthcare could be enhanced with the collaboration of Asian Group of Hospitals. A concept note was also discussed with the Governor of Central Bank of Bangladesh on the plan for setting up a hospital for the retired bankers of Bangladesh. It was decided that a special purpose vehicle would be nominated by the governor of Central bank of Bangladesh with Asian Hospital as knowledge and operating partner for the Project.

Dr N K Pandey, during his discussions and speech, said, Asian Hospitals are pioneers in the field of healthcare and are willing to join hands with Bangladesh for offering advanced healthcare solutions and services. India offers a wide range of specialised services at less than one-fifth of the cost in developed countries which is strengthening medical tourism industry. People from all corners of the world visiting India to seek medical and relaxation treatments, the most common treatments sought are heart surgery, knee transplant & Cancer Treatment. The health insurance market and National medical systems here are well developed, which is convenient for visitors from the West and the Middle East.

A special meeting was held at the Indian High Commission where the Deputy High Commissioner and first Secretary met the Asian Delegation & extended a warm Welcome & support for any business venture which Asian Group of Hospital was embarking in Bangladesh. The deputy high commission also extended his support in facilitating Visa for the patients seeking treatment in India from Asian Hospital.
