GE Healthcare is initiating a pilot project to develop IT solutions for Indian hospitals to deliver affordable treatment. The web-based services will include picture archive and communication systems (PACS) for the transfer of radiological images such as X-rays, CT and MRI scans from one location to another for interpretation and consultation. The solutions will also support the clinical, financial and administrative functions of healthcare providers. The technology, developed at the GE Healthcare IT development centre at Barrington, Illinois, will be piloted at the Diwan Chand Aggarwal imaging research centre in New Delhi, India.
