Kanpur’s Cardiology Institute

The Laxmipat Singhania Institute of Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery in Kanpur, a leading tertiary care hospital specializing in heart disease treatment and cardiac surgeries, is set to enhance its capabilities by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its diagnostic and treatment processes. This initiative aims to streamline patient examinations, optimize reporting, and improve overall treatment efficiency, particularly in managing heart attacks and critical cardiac conditions.

During a recent session, Prof. Premsil Meladenka from Charles University, Czech Republic, highlighted the transformative role AI can play in cardiac care. He emphasized AI’s potential in early detection, efficient reporting, and faster decision-making in managing heart attacks, ultimately improving patient outcomes and survival rates.

Prof. Rakesh Verma, Director of the Cardiology Institute, confirmed that the hospital is undergoing full-scale digitization, with AI integration planned across Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and Outpatient Departments (OPDs). The goal is to enhance the speed and accuracy of cardiac diagnostics, enabling doctors to provide timely and effective treatment.

Senior cardiologist Dr. Avdhesh Kumar Sharma pointed out that AI-powered tools will be particularly beneficial for general physicians operating in remote areas. AI-driven ECG interpretation will assist in early heart attack detection, allowing for quicker interventions and reducing fatality rates.

The event was attended by esteemed medical professionals, including Dr. MM Razi, Dr. Kumar Himanshu, Dr. Praveen Shukla, Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Dr. Neeraj Prakash, and Dr. Madhuri Priyadarshi, along with nursing and paramedical staff.

Established in 1975 with the support of the JK Charitable Trust, Kanpur’s Cardiology Institute has long been a pillar of advanced cardiac care. The hospital offers a comprehensive range of services, from preventive cardiology and diagnostics to therapeutic treatments and emergency interventions.

This AI-driven transformation is expected to set a new benchmark in India’s cardiac healthcare landscape, paving the way for more efficient, technology-enabled patient care. The integration of AI aligns with India’s broader vision of leveraging digital health technologies to improve healthcare accessibility and outcomes.
