
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu declared that health identity cards, encompassing the full health history of individuals, will be available for the entire state population by November 30. This initiative aims to offer instant access to patients’ health information. The announcement was made during the culmination of ‘Stimulus’, the annual event of Indira Gandhi Medical College, held on October 13.
In an official statement released on October 14, the Chief Minister highlighted the state’s ongoing endeavors to revolutionise the health sector. Plans are underway to introduce a dedicated Department of Emergency Medicine to enhance health services. Additionally, robotic surgery is set to debut at Super Specialty Hospital Chamyana and IGMC Shimla.

At the same event, the Chief Minister unveiled the promotional poster for the Annual National Conference of the India Public Health Association scheduled for March 15-17, 2024, in Manali. Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil emphasized the importance of unwavering dedication to service, urging students to serve the state’s residents wholeheartedly.

In a gesture of goodwill, IGMC’s doctors, staff, and students donated Rs 6.11 lakh to the Aapda Rahat Kosh, with the cheque handed to the chief minister.
