
MrMed has rapidly evolved since its inception, continually adapting to meet the diverse requirements of patients. With a dedicated team, they have built trust by personally reaching out to patients and have strong word-of-mouth recommendations. By serving over 10,000 customers across India, launching successful marketing campaigns, and introducing mobile apps, MrMed has established itself as a prominent player in the healthcare industry, shared Devashish Singh, Co-Founder of MrMed with Kaanchi Chawla of Elets News Network (ENN). Edited excerpts:
1. How has MrMed evolved since its inception? Are there any significant milestones or achievements you would like to highlight?

I think the most significant evolution has been adapting to patient requirements. And this has only been possible because of the dedicated team that we have built. When we started our platform, we reached out to patients with our personal Aadhar and PAN cards to build their trust. Today the blessings, testimonials, service, and strong word of mouth have helped us build trust in new patients.

In our first month of going live i.e. June 2021, we supplied medicines worth over 1 lakh to two customers. It was a promising start.

In December 2021, our content was featured as trustworthy enough for Google to introduce as snippets. This generally happens to content created by leading hospitals and veterans in the industry.
In June 2022, one year after our incorporation, we launched a fairly successful outdoor overhead ATL campaign and our revenues were growing 12 per cent MoM.
By August 2022, we had served over 10,000 customers across 1500 cities, towns, and villages in India, and we launched our mobile apps in March 2023.
2. What differentiates MrMed from other similar platforms in the healthcare industry?
We focus on super specialty medicines that are used to treat conditions such as cancer, hepatitis, chronic kidney disease, post-transplant, etc. The sale and supply of these medicines are completely different from that of “general” pharmaceuticals as they are not available in neighbourhood chemists and pharmacies.
Further, from a product perspective, we are always updating information on these medicines, whether it be medical literature or financial assistance options.
Lastly, it is our customer service, strong values, and empathy that make a difference. We know we are helping save lives in our own small way and we take our responsibility very seriously.
3. How do you envision the future of MrMed and its impact on the healthcare industry?
We see ourselves staying in the super speciality segment, adding services to the pharmacy operations. We also see ourselves as a key partner in drug adherence efforts and we see ourselves as an important patient-facing partner of the ecosystem.
4. What are your thoughts on the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning in the healthcare industry? Does MrMed utilize these technologies?
I think AI/ML is going to revolutionise healthcare in the very near future. Everyone seems to be in stealth mode on AI. I believe the biggest areas lie in diagnostics, drug discovery and delivery, and remote patient monitoring. We have started exploring using AI not only as patient-facing but also from a drug efficacy angle.
