Coronavirus update

Coronavirus continues to wreak havoc across the globe even as authorities of various countries are struggling to contain the outbreak. In India the total cases have gone up to 500. As per the Health Ministry data, the figure is 492 including 41 foreign nationals and the nine deaths reported across the country.

Kerala is the worst affected State with 95 confirmed cases have been reported so far, followed by Maharashtra ith 87 cases. Other States and Union Territories which have been affected the most include Delhi (31), Telangana(32), Uttar Pradesh(33), Rajasthan(33), Haryana(26). Thirty states and Union territories declared a lockdown by late evening on Monday. Two people died on Monday, one in Bengal and the other in Himachal Pradesh.


The health ministry on Monday said at least 12 private diagnostic chains have got approval for testing Covid-19, including Dr Lal PathLabs and SRL Diagnostics. Meanwhile, India will ban passenger flights on all domestic routes from Tuesday midnight in a desperate bid to arrest the spread of the deadly Covid-19.

The novel Coronavirus, reported first in China’s Wuhan city in December last has spread to more than 100 countries with China, Italy, Spain, South Korea, and Iran are among worst affected countries. The global death toll has crossed the 15,000 mark.
