Jayalalitha Announced A Revised Medical Insurance Cover
Yet another initiative of the erstwhile DMK regime, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa announced an improved medical insurance cover under which a family can derive a maximum benefit of Rs. four lakh for four years.
Only some 1.08% Indians have medical insurance
According to a research report issued by India’s National Insurance Academy, only some 1.08 percent of the one billion Indians have secured medical insurance cover since 1986 when health insurance was first introduced in the country.
