HealthcareIn what could be termed as a big boost to healthcare infrastructure in the State, Union Minister of State for Health Ashwani Kumar Choubey on Monday inaugurated emergency and trauma services at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)-Patna.

Eight modular operation theatres (OTs) and an additional 250 beds at the inpatient department (IPD) in Block C, was also inaugurated by the Minister.

“This facility will provide much-needed help to those who had to travel to AIIMS-Delhi or hospitals outside the state,” Choubey said.

The number of beds at AIIMS-P has increased from 350 to 600 and operation theatres from five to 13. And also the institute has catered to 2,11, 258 patients in its out-patient department (OPD) in the last six months. The number of patients visiting AIIMS-P OPD in 2016 were 3,04,835, which surged to 3,50,306 in 2017, Choubey further said.

Union Minister Ram Kripal Yadav and Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey were also present on the occasion.
