AIIMSAll India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) have signed a partnership agreement with Australia’s Deakin University for research collaborations in India.

Union HRD minister Prakash Javdekar was on an official visit to Australia to enhance education ties between both the countries, also present at the occasion.

The signings happened at Deakin Downtown, Australia in a roundtable on online education.

The agreement between AIIMS and Deakin University will formalise research collaborations, faculty and student exchange programs.

And the agreement between JIPMER and Deakin University will formalise the collaboration in Post Graduate programmes in neurosurgical skill training, head and neck radiation oncology, faculty exchange programme, study tours, exchange of knowledge through a webinar, MBBS student exchange programme and organisation of a joint workshop with other healthcare partners of Deakin.

“Being one of the largest public healthcare facilities in India, the collaboration will enable the exchange of knowledge between the two nations and it will in future produce better-skilled healthcare providers through joint initiatives.”, said AIIMS Director, Professor Randeep Guleria.
