Milan Paleja has been appointed as the vice chairman and managing director of Novartis India, a drug firm. The Board of Directors of Novartis India Limited took the decision in a meeting held on Friday.
Paleja, a graduate from Bombay University, is currently country president at Novartis in India. He also holds a post of managing director of Novartis Healthcare Pvt Ltd.
The Novartis India board has approved the “appointment of Milan Paleja as the vice chairman and managing director of the company with effect from June 1, 2018”, a statement from the company said.
“He has gained a wealth of experience over the years having held positions of increasing responsibility in Consumer Health, Sandoz and Pharmaceuticals, at country and regional level, in diverse geographies such as Singapore, South Africa and Switzerland,” it added.
Paleja has been at the post of Country President and Head Pharmaceuticals, Novartis Indonesia since March 2016.
He also holds a cost accountants degree from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
