Medical technology plays a strategic role in fostering the change of healthcare delivery towards better health outcomes. We focus on the comfort and safety of our patients, opine Yatharth Hospitals’ Chairman Dr Ajay Tyagi, and Managing Director Dr Kapil Tyagi, in conversation with Elets News Network (ENN).
Q Yatharth Hospitals, one of the fastest growing super speciality hospitals, is known for serving patients to their satisfaction. How has been your journey so far?
More than 20 years ago, four doctors dreamt together to make their unique vision a reality, a hospital that would do more than care for their patients. The intention was to provide a healing atmosphere that would encompass all the aspects of health and well-being. These dedicated doctors were laying the foundation for Yatharth, a hospital that would not only care for the medical needs of their patients but also create world class medical facilities for people who don’t belong to privileged class of the society.
Yatharth is poised to be one of the most preferred destinations for patient care that is affordable and trustworthy.

Q In the age of Internet and digital advancements, patients do have all the information on their fingertips. How do you strategise to meet with high demands of these patients who want quality service in cost effective manner?
Quality healthcare is a subjective, complex, and multi-dimensional concept. We knew if we will focus on the patient, everything else would follow, including the most technologically advanced care. A key strategic goal was to install robust, reliable and scalable infrastructure to support critical systems and provide staff and patients with uninterrupted access to resources.
Increasing trend of seeking accreditation of hospitals to cater to the booming demand for quality healthcare and growth of medical tourism has resulted in upgradation of medical technology by hospitals to comply with the accreditation requirements. Both of our branches are NABH (National accreditation board for hospitals and healthcare providers) accredited hospitals. NABH is equivalent to JCI (joint commission international) and other International standards.
Price transparency is the key: Prices for healthcare services vary significantly among providers, even for common procedures, and it’s often difficult for patients to determine their out-of-pocket costs before receiving care. If consumers realise that they could receive high-quality services from lower-cost providers, they would seek the services from them. This, in turn could encourage competition among providers based on the value of care—not just on reputation and market share.
Q You are planning to start 700 bed hospitals soon which is under construction. Tell us more about it.
Yatharth group currently has two hospitals, located in the cities of Noida and Greater Noida. We had a humble beginning in the Greater Noida with a 100 plus beds multi-speciality unit focussing mainly on the trauma and critical care, and since then we have grown leaps and bounds to become a major tertiary healthcare provider to all walks of life in the region. We then came up with another milestone in the healthcare at Noida, a 300-bed multi-speciality tertiary care hospital, close to Noida-Greater Noida expressway.
We then thought of expanding our services into organ transplant; like kidney, liver, bone marrow, cancer treatment and make a special setup for medical tourism.
It is a proud moment for us to announce that we’ll be adding two more units to Yatharth family, 300 bed multi-superspeciality hospital in Greater Noida, to be operational in April 2018. In addition, 400 beds multi-superspeciality hospital in Noida extension to be operational in August 2018.
Our facilities are extended to everyone irrespective of the social and economic status. Over the years we have earned a reputation that any patient who comes under our care gets quality care at an affordable cost.
