The Government has launched an open competition to procure a logo and tagline for Ayushman Bharat programme, announced in the Union Budget 2018-19 this year.  It has been decided that whosoever from the general public will win the competition by designing best logo for Ayushman Bharat programme, will be rewarded Rs 25,000. This shall be done through a digital crowd sourcing campaign on MyGov portal.

The competition, which is aimed to generate awareness among the population about health sector initiatives and engage them towards ownership in shaping a healthy India was launched on 19th February, 2018. The competition was supposed to conclude on March 6 but the date has been extended now till 18th March.

The main theme of the logo shall be Ayushman Bharat and the guiding principle will be SarveBhavantuSukhinah, SarveSantuNiramayah. The submission can be either digital logo or a handmade submission which can be submitted as a scanned copy on the digital platform, a PIB statement said.

The runner up of the competition would get an award of Rs 10,000. Union Health Minister J P Nadda would hand over the prize money to winners in a live streaming event on MyGov and other social media portals.

Earlier, as a part of Ayushman Bharat scheme, the Government had announced two major initiatives including National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS) in the Union Budget 2018-19. Under NHPS over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families would be provided treatment coverage up to Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation.

In addition, the Government decided to establish 1.5 lakh health and wellness centres across country which will provide people-centric comprehensive primary health care.
