India’s leading pathology chain Metropolis Healthcare Ltd has launched its 501th diagnostic centre to cater to the Vile Parle, Khar, Juhu, and Santacruz areas in the western suburb of Mumbai.
The new 1500 sq feet centre will also provide a comprehensive test menu ranging from routine to specialised medical examination with a quick turnaround time of four to five hours for automated tests.
The Metropolis story started in Mumbai. From launching specialized Endocrine Pathology in India to starting HIV testing in the country in 1986-87 and bringing new diagnostics technology like molecular biotechnology to the subcontinent, Metropolis has been at the forefront of several firsts for patients in India. With 500 centres and 10 laboratories in Mumbai, Metropolis is the biggest pathology chain in Mumbai and caters to thousands of patients on a daily basis.
“In Mumbai, we currently operate 10 labs and about 500 centres. Across India, we have about 150 labs and more than 1500 collection centres. With the launch of the laboratory in Juhu, residents in the vicinity will have easy access to the centre. Meeting the customer needs and providing them with accurate reports at the earliest will save our customers time, said Vijender Singh, Chief utive Officer of Metropolis Healthcare.
Over the past three decades Metropolis has been instrumental in setting standards in an industry that is largely fragmented and unregulated. In the last 15 years, Metropolis has grown in terms of revenue, service lines offered, number of centres, locations, and test menu offerings and most importantly the number of lives impacted.
