Global healthcare major Sanofi has appointed Nikhilesh Kalra as the General Manager to lead the company’s consumer healthcare business in India and South Asia.

Nikhilesh joins us at a time when we are building strong presence in consumer healthcare in India, with the recent closure of business swap with Boeringher Ingelheim and its incoming CHC brands, said Shailesh Ayyangar, Managing Director- India and Vice President-South Asia, Sanofi, in a statement.


Speaking on his appointment, Kalra said, “The consumer health space has great opportunity in South Asia, and Sanofi is amongst the top consumer healthcare companies in the world. In India, Sanofi has a long history with well-loved and trusted brands like Combiflam and Avil.”

“In recent years, the company has strengthened their portfolio with brands like Allegra, Enterogermina and the recently acquired Dulcolfex. I look forward to growing these brands further, and strengthen Sanofis position in the consumer health space in India and in South Asia,” he said.

Before joining Sanofi, Kalra worked as the Regional Marketing Director – Asia, Middle East and Africa of General Mills. Prior to that he worked with Reckitt Benckiser in various roles in sales and marketing across India, Europe and Asia.


His proven track record in driving revenue and profit growth in multiple roles in sales and marketing is expected to drive the growth of Sanofi in India and South Asia region.

His areas of expertise include commercial leadership, P&L management, brand positioning, brand strategy, innovation, advertising, success models, white space entry, sales, trade marketing, digital marketing, sales and operation planning, among others.
