Clove Dental buys Denty’s to expand footprint in South India

In a move to expand its presence in South India, Clove Dental, one of India’s largest dental chains promoted by Global Dental Services, has formed a strategic partnership with Denty’s to expand its presence in South India, a company statement said.

Clove has currently 118 clinics in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra, while Denty’s, a brand of Today’s Healthcare India Pvt. Ltd, has 22 clinics in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.

“Within a short span, we have established ourselves as a brand that stands for high quality dental care. This strategic alliance will help us strengthen our position in Southern India which will be a ‘win win’ both for existing Clove and Denty’s patients,” said Louis Shakinovsky, Chairman, Global Dental Services Ltd.

“The customers here will benefit as they will have access to Nationwide panel of Doctors & Specialists with World Class infrastructure and latest technology/equipment, besides being able to continue their line of treatment with their existing preferred doctor. Nothing changes for the customer, in fact, it only gets better for them as they can leverage the best of both worlds,” he added.

Nine Rivers Capital Advisors & Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas acted as the financial & legal advisors to Denty’s and Samvad Partners, a leading legal advisory firm advised Clove Dental on the transaction, the statement said.

Dr Sekhar Chennupati, Chief Executive Officer, Denty’s said, “We are delighted and privileged to be a part of Clove Dental, India’s largest and most respected dental chain with affiliate clinics in London, Dallas, Houston and New York. Joining Clove’s eco-system gives us the opportunity to share best practices and align each of our expertise to deliver increased value to our customers. Both entities share the vision of trust, integrity and respect, and are committed to offer the highest standards of dental care.”

As part of its expansion plan, Clove aims to launch 600 clinics across India by 2021. Clove and Denty’s have together invested over Rs 200 crores in infrastructure and state-of-the-art equipment.

Amarinder Singh, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Clove Dental, said, “We continuously strive to deliver high quality dental care to our patients and we have a relentless focus on both clinical and infrastructure quality. Every clinic is audited several times a month and treatment cases are reviewed to ensure that highest quality care is delivered consistently, accurately and ethically.

“Denty’s shares our vision of quality and ethical care and, given their strong presence in the Southern states, this partnership was compelling. I am delighted to announce that Dr. Sekhar will join the Board of Directors of Clove Dental and be appointed Head of South India,” he added.

According to Ken Research, the India dental care services market will register double digit growth rate and will reach over Rs 14,700 crore by FY’2020. Research analysts at Ken Research suggest that the domestic players need to focus on effective marketing strategies and educating the consumer on the importance of good dental care and hygiene.
