Aakash Healthcare has invested Rs 220 crore in its first super specialty hospital in Delhi which is expected to be launched by January 2017, said Aashish Chaudhry, Director, Aakash Healthcare Pvt Ltd.

“We are entering the hospitals segment with the launch of our 230 bed super specialty hospital in Delhi by January 2017. We have invested around Rs 220 crore for the facility,” Chaudhry said.


Aakash Healthcare is part of the Aakash Group, which runs education centres across India.

The focus of the new facility will be on cardiac care, neurosciences, mother and child, nephrology, opthalmology and orthopaedics, among others, according to Chaudhry.

“Out of the total investment, Rs 70 crore is equity while rest is loans from banks,” the Director of Aakash Healthcare added as he gave information about the investment break-up.


The company aims to open four more hospitals in tier II cities with an investment between Rs 400 crore and Rs 500 crore in the next four years.

“The aim is to open four more hospitals by 2020 end. But these will be smaller hospitals. They will be single specialty surgical hospitals or boutique hospitals, with say focus on mother and child,” Chaudhry said.
