The Government Headquarters Hospital gets a solar panel with the money sanctioned from constituency development fund of DMDK MLA V.C. Chandrakumar. He had sanctioned the panel worth Rs. 5 lakh two months ago.

According to him, the power generated from the panel would meet the electricity requirements of the paediatric and maternity wards. All works ideated under the constituency development fund for 2014-15 have been completed.

Every year, Rs. 2 crore is being spent on works pertaining to construction of classrooms and new buildings for primary healthcare centres and noon meal centres, besides garbage management, distribution of tricycles to the disabled and purchase of desks, benches and other furniture for schools.
