The Noida-headquartered real estate and infrastructure major Jaypee Group is planning to invest Rs 2,000 crore in the next three to five years in the healthcare sector across Uttar Pradesh.

With this investment plan, the company intends to add around 4,000 to 5,000 beds. Of the total investment, one third will be financed through debt and two thirds will be through equity. Jaypee Group will develop hospitals in places like Agra, Sahibabad, and Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh. The company also plans to set up a hospital in Kanpur.


Jaypee forayed into the healthcare segment with its multi-super specialty hospital in Noida. The hospital is being developed in two phases. Phase-I of the project, with a 525-bed facility is expected to be fully functional by June 2014. Of the 525 beds, 150 are critical care beds spread across medical and surgical intensive care units.

Of the total 25 acre, in the present hospital campus, 18 acre has been used so far. Phase-II of the project, with 1,200 beds capacity, will be developed on the remaining land. The company is investing Rs 600 crore in the Noida hospital which is expected to be completed in the next five years.
