Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung pledged to be an organ donor as he became a member of the Delhi Organ Retri and Sharing Organization (DORSO) during his visit to the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS). He assured that considering the very high patient load, there is a need to enhance these facilities and make ILBS the best liver centre in whole of Asia.

‘All great institutes and all best institutes need sacrifices which everybody should prepare to make for this motherland of ours,’ said Jung.

Jung stressed on the need for public education and awareness about liver diseases.

Jung also inaugurated the Dialysis Centre at the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital in Tahirpur. This was a major step towards Delhi Governments mission to add about 150 dialysis machines in various hospitals. The patients receiving care at these centres will be provided free counselling, education and medical consultation. The government will provide free cashless dialysis under Delhi Arogya Kosh Scheme.
