Telerad Tech, the managed service provider for Cisco’s Health Presence telemedicine platform in India has announced that it is now operational in Eastern India. The first site went live this month and already more than 100 patients have been benefited.
Dr Sunita Maheshwari, a Pediatric Cardiologist and Chief dreamer of the organisation, helped to operationalize the telemedicine centres in the Eastern Indian States. Telemedicine consultations by Telerad RxDx doctors have started in the rural villages of Chattisgarh and Odisha using Cisco’s technology. Another site in North India – Kota, Rajasthan is scheduled to go live in October. According to Dr. Maheshwari, the use of technology is helping remote areas of Asia leapfrog into high tech health care. A shortage of doctors in rural areas and a need for specialist consultation is leading to a real need for telemedicine deployment in India.
Cisco Health Presence is an advanced visual collaboration solution that will transform the way healthcare is experienced and delivered. It offers high-definition video, a digital stethoscope and other hardware integration to give one clinical patient data, making it much more than just a video conferencing device. For the first time Telemedicine is integrated with Teleradiology – Telerad Tech’s RADSpa™ integrated with Health Presence allows a doctor to not just examine a patient but also view his diagnostic scans. All this is possible without the doctor needing to be confined to a telemedicine room, which is one of the issues with traditional telemedicine solutions. With this technology the doctor can be anywhere, anytime.
