Chandigarh based Mirchias Laser Eye Centre, the oldest eye-care centre in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh region is now a unit of Centre for Sight, group of eye hospitals. The partnership expands the footprint of Centre for Sight in this area from two centres to 7 centres. Now, the total number of Centre for Sight super-specialty eye hospitals goes up to 40 across India bringing world class affordable eye care at your door step.
Since its inception in 1996 Centre for Sight, promoted by renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Mahipal Singh Sachdev, a Padamshree awardee has been on an aggressive growth path.

Speaking on the expansion plan, Dr. Sachdev informed, In the next three years, Centre for Sight will open 15 new centres in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
The innovative Femtosecond Laser technology allows for the creation of corneal incisions and capsulorrhexis with computer guided Laser controlled precision. The laser also fragments the cataract into tiny pieces which can then be safely removed by the surgeon. The critical high resolution eye image mapping and measurements that are used to plan and perform the surgery to exact specifications are not attainable with traditional surgery. With the use of femtosecond laser, each aspect of cataract surgery is automatically programmed and monitored by the computer, highlighted Dr. Mirchia.
