This merger will result in: Dr. Kasu Prasad Reddy, one of the best Refractive Opthalmic surgeons in the world and founder of Maxivision Eye Hospitals, spearheading the combined entity as a Co-Chairman and heading all eye-care initiatives of the joint entity, Medfort Maxivision Group Medfort-Maxivision emerging as a 12 eye-hospital network, with presence in 6 cities, namely, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Vizag, Vijayawada and UAE All the Eyecare activities of Medfort Group being rebranded as Maxivision Eyecare and Maxivision Lasik Suites across India Housing the best-in-class cataract and retina units. The joint entity will house refractive Lasik Suites combining Supracor and Intracor to provide Lasik treatment, including presbyopic lasik treatment for all class of patients Commenting on this merger Dr. G. S. K. Velu, Chairman, Medfort Hospitals said, “Medfort has seized the opportunity provided by the lacuna in synergized, high quality Vision Care and Diabetes Care to emerge as the largest day care chain in the country.” Dr. Velu said that Medfort hopes to expand Maxivision’s network to include 50 hospitals across 20 cities within the next 12 months. The opportunity for cataract services in the top 35 Indian cities itself is worth more than Rs 3000 crore. Medfort expects this market to continue remaining attractive, since the surgical rate lags the rate of incidence in the nation and there is a significant cataract back-log which awaits clearance. The refractive error opportunity is equally large.
