A recent Gartner industry report says, Dell is the leading provider of healthcare IT services globally according. The ranking is based on 2010 revenue, marks the second consecutive year Dell has achieved the No. 1 ranking for healthcare services. It is also seen that Dell also ranked No. 1 globally for the provision of hardware maintenance and support to education customers. The leadership position is solidified over the past year with acquisitions and new cloud based services that are supposed to be one of the most significant information management challenges faced by healthcare organizations today — medical image management and archiving and information security. InSite One, further enhancing Dell’s Unified Clinical Archiving solution, and SecureWorks, which provides world-class information security services was acquired by Dell. It also announced cloud-based services that are designed to help hospitals and physician practices simplify secure data access, increase mobility, and further drive efficiencies, earlier this year.
