An awareness medical camp on cancer was organised by Uni Disaster Management and Rural Development Society and Ishan Environment and Rural Development Trust, at Local Shopping Complex, Samrat Enclave. Colonel (Retd.) PD Sharma, Ex-PRO Defence, General Secretary of the Uni Disaster Management and Rural Development Society organised the program to bring awareness among the people about cancer. Dr Mandeep Singh, Head Clinical Oncologist and Dr. Ashish Tomar of Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute participated in the program. Lectures were delivered and counseling was given by the doctors to the patients attending the camps. The doctors said cancer can be cured in the initial stage and the technology has been developed in the recent years. They asked the cancer victims not to get depressed with the disease and to go for regular checkups without fail so that the disease can be cured to a larger extent. Anil Bhardwaj, MLA, Parliamentary Secretary to Chief Minister of Govt. of NCT of Delhi was the chief guest of the program. Speaking on the occasion he said that more such awareness camps to be organized in schools and slums to create awareness among the people and asked the society members and participants to extend their help in creating awareness.
