Eucomed’s Extraordinary General Assembly approved a new board for Europe’s leading medical technology industry association. This marks the final step in a process started during the MedTech Forum 2009 to make the association future ready. Eucomed’s new Board is currently composed of 15 senior representatives of the association’s corporate and national association members with five and seven seats respectively. In addition, up to six seats are available to sector group representatives. Currently three seats are taken by the orthopaedic, cardiovascular and ophthalmic surgery & vision care sector groups. Further applications for Board seats are pending by additional sector groups. In the coming months, the new Board will work together with the team at Eucomed to reflect on the industry’s strategy going forward. All members were encouraged during yesterday’s Extraordinary General Assembly to engage with their new directors during the months to come in order to ensure a true reflection of the sector’s diversity and interests.
