GE Healthcare has announced an expansion of its financing program for electronic health records systems targeted at healthcare providers who are eligible for medicaid and medicare incentive payments under the federal economic stimulus package, as per reports.

The program is designed to fill the gap between the time when a provider must purchase and implement an EHR system and when medicare and medicaid incentives begin.

As part of its Stimulus Simplicity program, GE will offer 0% payment terms and deferred payments until 2012. The loan program is available for new purchases of Centricity Enterprise, Centricity EMR and Centricity Business.
