2009-2010 budget with enough tender opportunities for ICT sector was delivered by New South Wales Treasurer Eric Roozendaal. There was a mention of upgradation of many exiting projects in the budget including ICT sector involvement. These include upgrades to infrastructure in the areas of health, energy and emergency services. Furthermore, a full review of infrastructure investment plans beyond 2012-13 was announced, to be undertaken over the next 12 months and incorporated in the next State Infrastructure Strategy, due to be published in mid 2010.

In the health sector, the government will be investing in several new systems, specially ‘works on business information, human resource, medical imaging, and patient and clinical systems.’ It was told that its $63.1 million investment will be spent on more effective, efficient sharing of information and management of health services. Also it will improve corporate and clinical processes. $4.9 million were also earmarked to ‘complete a new financial management information system to facilitate provision of shared corporate services and improve the efficiency of back-room functions within NSW Health.’
