Gujarat’s first spine centre was opened at the N M Virani-Wockhardt hospital. The spine centre was inaugurated recently by Seungcheol lee, the President and CEO of Spine Centre, Seoul, South Korea alongwith neuro surgeons of the group’s local and visiting doctors. Speaking on the occasion, Lee, a renowned surgeon on Minimally Invasive Spine (MIS) surgery said, “This (MIS) surgery is a newer approach for spine surgery as compared to the conventional surgical method giving an edge in treatment and fast recovery to the patients, which is now available at Wockhardt hospital here.” A very specialised equipments and medical instrument for performing the surgeries are required, which carries several advantages to the surgeries as well as patients, he said. Past operative complications can be reduced by the surgery besides, less blood, lesser pain, faster recovery and shorter hospital stay are the other benefits, he said. According to the centre head, Deepak Venugopal, the Wockhardt group has been trying to provide world’s best health care service to the people of the region by inviting renowned specialists doctors. The hospital authority also announced the public launch of backache and spine club focussing on patients awarness.
