The Apollo Hospitals Group in a joint venture with DKV AG, Europe’s largest private health insurer (Deutsche Krankenversicherung AG) recently announced its health insurance company, Apollo DKV Insurance Company Limited. DKV, the European market leader of private health insurance business said that Apollo perfectly fits into their strategy to establish private health insurance in growth markets, bridging insurance, medical services and the delivery of healthcare. Both partners also strongly believe in the growth-potential of the Indian health insurance market and corresponding business opportunities Apollo DKV’s strategic plan is to bring world-class insurance experience to consumers across India. The company plans to have a national presence across 25 cities by the second year of operations and spread to over 100 locations by 2010.
