UK’s oldest and largest independent PPO network provider, MultiPlan announced that the company has won the 2006 Rural Health Outreach Grant Program. MultiPlan Network allows enabling them to introduce a new service, expand an existing service, educate, screen or reach out to a new population, or otherwise serve their communities. According to Senior Vice President of Network Development for MultiPlan, the company understands the needs of rural communities and hospital’s relationship with the community. According to Kathryn Scott, RN, Healthcare Services Representative at Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe, LA, MultiPlan is helping us to expand the service to our community. Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in Hartsville, SC will supplement their current community wellness efforts by enhancing their Diabetes Awareness Program. Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford, IN is planning to refurbish a decommissioned ambulance to use as a mobile health and wellness unit, traveling to surrounding counties to provide health screenings and educational classes. Louisiana Heart Hospital located in Lacombe, LA will augment their current Community Outreach Program of education and free screenings.
