The Government of Andhra Pradesh (AP), India, will set up an online tracking system to closely monitor the progress of surgeries for children with heart ailments and conduct screening camps in September every year. Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has reviewed progress of the surgeries during the last two years at a meeting. The tracking system will enable monitoring of each case and the follow-up. It has been proposed to have four screening camps this year on September 10, 17, 24 and October 1. Except NIMS, which has conducted 802 surgeries and two corporate institutions –CARE (641) and Apollo (585) — other private hospitals are not implementing the agreement entered into with the government.
