Rural community is no more to think about the remoteness for health problems. John Oxendine, Georgia state insurance commissioner, launched the Memorial hospital’s telemedicine network, which is a three-year programme that costs about $11 million. Specialist doctors based at Memorial hospitals can diagnose patients, who are from rural areas, and contact local family doctor for the treatment. The Blue Cross Blue Shield has provided the telemedicine equipments and training through a grant.
